Performing Arts Ministry Workshop in Goodyear, Arizona
Posted: 2004-01-08 By CFCM Staff

Goodyear, AZ January 8, 2004- A four week workshop introducing the basic
concepts of performing arts ministry will be offered on Wednesday nights,
beginning January 28, 2004, in Goodyear, Arizona,. The workshop, held at
Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 918 S. Litchfield, will be from 7:35PM
(thirty five) until 9:00PM. This casual workshop is open to adults and
teens and is suitable for veteran performers, hobbyists or beginners.
Minors will need to have a completed permission slip from a parent or
guardian, with the slips available online (posted after January 10, 2004) at the first workshop session. A free will offering will be accepted for the “tuition” for the workshop. Leading the workshop will be K. Sean Buvala, a veteran performer with more
than 19 years experience in the performing arts ministry both locally and nationally. More information and registration can be found online at www.creativeministry.com or by calling Sean at 623-936-8111.

“The workshop will help participants develop the basic skills for
performing arts ministry across a spectrum of disciplines and help them to
explore the theological basis for using their gifts in the church, in
other words, the ‘the how and why’ of the arts as ministry,” says Sean
Buvala, the director of the Center for Creative Ministry and the workshop
leader. Sean continued, “One of the good things about this workshop, in
addition just simply being fun, is that the participants will walk away
from it with a variety of scripts and plans that they can use immediately
in the Lenten season, which starts at the end of February. It’s very
practical.”

The ecumenical workshop is sponsored by the Center for Creative Ministry
as well as Christ Evangelical Lutheran and Holy Family United Reform
Catholic Churches. Participants are asked to dress casually and
comfortably.
