Storyteller and actor, Sean Buvala creates an intimate theatrical experience of the men and women of Scripture from the Lenten season. You’ll hear from King David, the Samaritan Woman, Pilate, Peter and others in a contemporary, down-to-earth presentation. Recorded live. Intended for adult and mature teens. "After I heard your story of King David, I thought , ’Man, if God can forgive him, then there’s hope for me, too.’" -16 year old boy

A collection of stories from a Master Teller who has worked with teens for almost two decades. These stories are told specifically for teenage boys, ages 13-19. The content is blunt, to-the-point and of interest to young men. There is no "candy coating" here on this CD. For example, Sean starts off the collection with his own story about a time when he could have "done better" but missed an opportunity as he tells "Drunk Mr. Daniels." The stories are presented in a style that leaves the listener to draw his own conclusions. The CD contains stories from the teller’s experiences as well as variations on world folktale and myth.

For your Lenten reflection, we are offering our modern "Stations of the Cross" CD entitled "So My Brothers and Sisters Can Eat." Mixing the final hours of Jesus life and his death on the cross with linked modern stories of justice and service, you’ll get an opportunity to reflect on how we are called to justice and to "feed" the poor and hungry. Recorded from a live reader’s theater presentation, the cast of adults and teens lend their voices to a moving collection of story and song. The mix of professional voices and young people produces a easy to listen to presentation that challenges and affirms. Others Say: "The Stations of the Cross take on a new meaning in ’So My Brothers and Sisters Can Eat.’ This is a fresh approach to a time honored and timeless devotion that causes young and old alike to recognize the Christ in our midst as never before. As Jesus struggled and stumbled down the road to his death, we too struggle and stumble in our walk to encounter Christ in the world. ’So My Brothers and Sisters Can Eat’ is certainly a medium that makes Christ recognizable to all of us and gives us a companion on our journey."- Greg Sweeney, Youth Coordinator, Indiana

Field Tested! Background: “Lucky’s” is probably our most re-requested "Lenten" piece in our repertoire. For example, we have one church that has been booking us twelve years in a row for their high school retreats, and they insist, since we introduced the piece, that we do “Lucky’s” and the accompanying lesson plan and Reconciliation service. We are always amazed at the number of teens who voluntarily choose to participate in Reconciliation afterwards. Done well, this service can truly touch the hearts of your young people...and adults as well.

An interesting book on the how we can help to nurture and develop character in boys while maintaining the essential nature of boys. At times a very accurate book and other times more of opinion that fact, this book has good uses as a resource for your future projects.

Love it or hate it, it still sells like crazy. This book must hit a truth, or a nerve, in many people to this day. What do you think?

"A Biblical Who’s Who" Great stories of the men and women of scripture stripped of the varnish and veneer that keeps so many from seeing that the people of scripture are not far removed, but rather our neighbors, enemies, friends, and most likely, ourselves.
