Auditions!
We will be scheduling group auditions for the “Friday’s Faces” troupe throughout the summer months. If you are interested in joining our troupe, please send an Email to our director, Sean Buvala, at sean@creativeministry.com . Who Should Audition?
Being in the Friday’s Faces troupe is primarily a ministry. Although there is limited compensation for participating, it is not enough to be even considered a “part time” job. You must have the freedom and willingness to travel occasionally throughout Arizona and possibly the United States, via commercial airlines and private car. Costs for travel are covered by company.
We are currently seeking adults of either gender and of all ages. We do accept some high school students who will be at least 16 during the 2003/2004 school year. Teens who wish to participate in the troupe must have a signed waiver to audition and, if selected, will need an additional release form to be a performing member of the group. We strongly encourage the presence and participation of the parents of any teens in our troupe. If you are a teenager who would like to audition, please call our office at (623) 936-8111 for more information.
Those who audition for the troupe must have a strong desire to minister to others through the performing arts. Although some of our troupe have had degrees or specialized training in theater, these things are not a must. The ability to take direction, honor contracts and attendance agreements, a desire to learn about and participate in ministry as well as a strong sense of empathy are the most important requirements.
Not everyone who auditions for our troupe is selected, even if they have an excellent background, training, skill or extensive experience. We’ve been doing this for a long time and we have become good at matching the troupe and new members.
As a troupe member, you must have access to your own local transportation, be able to travel, be eligible to work in the United States and have access to Email and the Internet.
You must be prepared to work in all types of conditions, with many (many!) different types of people within a variety of religious traditions. You will learn things you didnt know you didnt know as this ministry is a real adventure at times.
You must be willing to share a hotel room with one or more of the same gender troupe members for overnight events. You will need to provide your own costuming which normally consists of street clothing in black and/or white.
Auditions consist of theater exercises, sketches and an interview. We’re looking forward to speaking with you!
The FAQ’s
Who and What is the “Friday’s Faces: Theater for All Things Possible” troupe?
